It’s not easy working in the theatre industry. If you are self-employed, running your own business or juggling multiple hats, long hours, late nights and stress can become the norm. There may be moments of self-doubt or frustration. Allow us to help you recharge and refocus.
The day will begin with some light yoga and meditation at 11am to relax your mind and body. If you are unable to take part in yoga due to any physical injuries or disabilities you may arrive at 11.45am. Please email, us ideally at least a week in advance, to let us know you will not be attending yoga as this will help us plan for numbers. Email us at info@adofthefuture.com
We will provide you with a mix of interactive workshop exercises, vibrant discussions and self-reflection with like-minded members.
Give yourself permission to spend the day working on your career ambitions, goals and desires. You will leave feeling confident about your goals and how to approach them, positive and revitalised.

YOU ARE EXCEPTIONAL
KILL THE INNER CRITIC led by Rikki Beadle-Blair; Director, Producer, Writer and Creative Director of Team Angelica
A workshop to boost confidence and change your relationship with self-criticism. Do you find yourself doubting your chances to succeed, your abilities and what you can achieve? If you want others to have confidence in your ideas and ability you have to have confidence in them first. Confidence allows people to set goals and to believe they can achieve them. It takes confidence to go for opportunities you want. Confident people are not deterred by obstacles. Confident people are able to say ‘no’ meaning they don’t overwhelm themselves by constantly trying to please others. They also know when to say ‘yes’ when they are offered great opportunities because they are not hindered by thoughts of failure and doubt. Confidence improves happiness, you’ll be less stressed when you are thinking positively rather than criticising yourself. Confidence means you are not threatened by others and their abilities, success and likeability therefore you will always act and treat others generously and people will want to work with you and help you. This workshop gives you a chance to reflect on how you see yourself and it will help you tackle your career with a positive mindset and realise what amazing qualities you have to offer.
ALIGNING YOUR CAREER AND LIFESTYLE GOALS
Are your long-term career goals at conflict with your lifestyle goals? This is a mind mapping exercise session to help you explore whether your career goals sit well with your lifestyle goals and identify where you can make adjustments to accommodate both. This exercise will help you prioritise what is most important to you and realise what things you can compromise on either in the short term or long term without sacrificing your overall goals or happiness.
DESIGN THE CAREER YOU WANT
This writing exercise workshop will help really think about the career you want, what career satisfaction and success looks like to you. You will work out the steps you need to take to achieve your short term and long-term career goals. By the end of the session you will have a 5 year plan and a detailed plan of actions to complete over the next 12 months.
You will also form a new relationship with any challenging past career experiences to prevent them holding you back from confidently pursuing your ambitions. The workshop will help you reflect on past experiences and use them as a valuable source of knowledge to help you move forward in a positive way. You will learn how to cope and prepare for potential future challenges, celebrate your achievements and acknowledge when you are making progress and where there is room for development.
