A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR ARTS ORGANISATIONS TO DIVERSIFY THEIR BOARDS
Our award-winning ADF Board Shadowing Programme is a first of its kind initiative, taking place in arts organisations across the UK. This unique programme offers the chance for arts organisations to meet potential Black, Asian or ethnically diverse board members and the opportunity to assess and develop their engagement, recruitment and retention strategies.
The ADF Board Shadowing programme is designed to demystify the roles and responsibilities of the board, broker relationships with aspiring trustees and create an even playing field for near-future opportunities. We have developed a unique package of support, including shadowing time, induction sessions, meet and greets, governance training, networking and evaluation. Every year we review and implement feedback into the design of our programme to ensure the shadowers and host organisations gain a meaningful, informative, and valuable experience which will lead to positive changes for arts organisations and for the sector as a whole. The programme is open to any arts organisation interested in expanding their networks and developing practice, regardless of the current make-up of their board. Whether an organisation will be recruiting trustees in two months’ time or two years’ time, all are welcome to participate.
