Meet the Programmers

October 18 @ 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm

About the event

Meet the Programmers is a speed networking event designed to connect Global Majority creatives with the decision-makers in theatre and live performance.

This is also an opportunity for organisations to expand beyond their existing networks and engage with our members.

Organisations attend with up to 3 of their senior staff including, which includes their Artistic Director, Producer and/or Executive Director.

Previous Meet the Programmers have been attended by Complicité, Donmar Warehouse, Emergency Exit Arts, Hatfair, Hartshorn Hook Productions, Lyric Theatre, Sheffield Theatres, Strike a Light, Soho Theatre, Royal Court and Yard Theatre.

How it works

You will meet 4-6 arts organisations during this period in 10 minute slots. You can use each slot differently depending on which organisation you are meeting. You will prepare a 3-5 minute verbal pitch which can be can be used to:

  • Pitch a script or production you want produced or co-produced.
  • Pitch a project e.g. a artist development programme or initiative you want to collaborate on.
  • Invite the organisations to a show you have written, produced or directed.
  • Make an introduction to your theatre company
  • Make an introduction to your body of creative work to be considered for future jobs.

You do not have to pitch alone. You can bring 1 person with you to discuss a project or production you are working on together. Your guest does not need to be an ADF member.

After your 3-5 minute pitch the organisations will spend 5 minutes asking you questions.

The organisations are sent your contact details, biography and any other materials you would like them to read.

ADF will follow up a week later with the organisations to check if they have been in touch with anyone or if they would like us to pass on their contact details to you.

Who is it for?
